Our Success

It was John’s first match through IJL when he met Joan for drinks at Tejas. Previously to joining IJL, they had tried online dating, meeting friends of friends and other dating avenues. John confesses the two had an instant connection and comfort level from their very first date. Hiking, cooking and getting together with friends and family were just a few of the activities they two took part in while dating. Their wedding day was “absolute perfect” and was followed by a honeymoon in Costa Rica. John and Joan just purchased and are in the midst of renovating a new home. They just returned from Peru and plan to go to Napa and Spain next year.

At 43, Jean was tired of being set-up by friends and was looking for a different way to meet people. It was Rick’s third date through IJL when he met Jean- he thought she was wonderful, asked for her number and the two made plans to meet again in two days. After the second date, they were inseparable- spending time rollerblading, skiing, dinning out, playing tennis and walking around the lakes of Minnesota. After a year of dating, Rick prepared a Walleye dinner and asked Jean to be his wife. They celebrated their love at a small church near the family cabin in Northern Minnesota with friends and family. It was simply and meaningful to both Jean and Rick. The couple has spent their married life traveling to Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Hilton Head and Orlando. Within the next couple of years they plan to move into a new home together.

Sean’s last match of his membership was the last first date of his life. He met Nina for drinks and was excited to discover she was cute, nice and fun to talk to. Nina initially joined IJL because she was tired of being alone, and wanted someone in her life to do things. Sean and Nina were certainly not alone any longer- they spent their time going to movies, shopping and being together. While away on a business trip, Nina realized how much she missed Sean and knew at that moment she wanted him to be part of her life forever. After a bended knee proposal the couple had a beautiful September wedding in North Dakota. In a few years, they will visit the idea of becoming parents.

Nina & Sean


Prior to joining IJL, Bill and Michelle dated occasionally, mostly meeting people through friends and family. She decided to join IJL because she no longer wanted to wait for others to set her up. Bill decided he had noting to lose and he couldn’t have been more right- four days after joining IJL his first lunch date was arranged at WA Frost. He met Michelle and instantly felt comfortable with her, their conversation flowed well and he thought she was very cute! She was amazed that they had so much in common and shared so many of the same values. The following day, Michelle sent Bill an email which led to a second date and eventually a Christmas day proposal. They were married in Edina on a sunny, cool day in October. As husband and wife they just finished renovating their home and are looking forward a trip to Hawaii in January. In the future, they would like to purchase a vacation home in the Colorado mountains. Bill and Michelle believe life is an adventure and they are looking forward with a sense of hopeful excitement.
